Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 4 tsp baking power
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tarter

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup soft butter (room temperature)
  • 2/3 cup milk

Method

  • Sift the flour and mix in the dry ingredients
  • Blend the butter into the flour with a pastry blender (should be a fine granular mixture)
  • Add milk and mix lightly
  • Dump onto a floured surface and form with hands to 3/4 inch thick dough pad
  • Cut biscuits with 2 1/2 inch cookie cutter
  • Bake on a cookie sheet for 12 minutes at 375F
