Ingredients
- 3 cups Flour
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 tablespoon Sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon Salt
- 3/4 cup (or 1 1/2 sticks) Butter
- 1 cup Buttermilk
Method
- Preheat oven to 450 F (230 C)
- Sift together the first 5 dry ingredients in a mixing bowl
- Cut in pieces of cooled butter and chop with hand blender until a granular mixture
- Add buttermilk and stir lightly to make a slightly tacky dough.
- Dump onto a floured surface and shake on flour if needed to fold into to 3/4″ thick slab of dough (Pat flat with hands -do not use roller or overwork the dough)
- Cut out biscuits with a cookie cutter or small water glass.
- Bake on cookie sheet for 12 minutes.
